Hi,
First of all, Thanks for building this amazing tool. I love it's super easy functionality and usage.
I have been using this product mainly for GDS viewing and came across "Trace Net" feature. I don't have LVS net information or any labels defined for net, but i simply want to trace connectivity by clicking at one point in design which can take Metal and via information from layer stack and highlight connected path/polygons.
Is this possible? If yes, i am not able to do this with defining metal and via information in layer stack yet. Is there any trick?

Hi Vaibhav,
the "Trace Net" feature provides exactly the functionality you look for.
To set of a layer stack, open the net tracer dialog and click on the "Layer Stack" button in the lower left part of the dialog.
There is more documentation here: http://www.klayout.de/doc/manual/net_tracing.html.

Matthias
I have a design with a LVS-reported three-net short fairly well up the hierarchy. When I run Trace-Path against two of the nets, it thinks for a while and reports that they're not connected. When I run Trace-Net against one of those nets, it thinks for a while and highlights shapes on both nets.
By the way, thank you for a very useful tool - and did I say, fast!
At your convenience I would like to discuss a few things with you that are probably too sensitive for the forums. I believe you have my email address from my registration here.

Hi phred,
you can contact me through the mail listed on the "Contact" page. I'm interested in a testcase that allows me to reproduce the problem. Basically a connection should be reported if the net tracer propagates along the short. Everything else is a bug.
Thanks,
Matthias
