Instead of clicking to open the Instance Properties window, one can use the keyboard shortcut "q". That works well in combination with the space bar to switch between selected objects.

Thank you. That makes sense, and I was able to removed the "@" sign following your screenshot. The reason for seeing 5 instead of 3 is that I removed/closed some of the open views.
